Gluten in Home Ice Cream products
The following products do not contain gluten or glucose.
The following products contain maize based glucose.

Peanuts and other nuts in Home Ice Cream products
Due to the possible use of common lines, the possibility of traces of nuts cannot be totally eliminated from all products.
The following products are nut free as they are made first after the mix plant, pipe work, vats and machines have been washed and sanitised.
GMO Status of Home Ice Cream products
None of the ingredients used in our products contain Genetically Modified Organisms.
The majority of the flavours that we use contain alcohol, which is used as a carrier for the flavour compounds.
The following products do not contain alcohol based flavours:
Home Ice Cream products do not contain any animal fat (i.e. Lard, dripping, edible tallow, etc.). The fat in our ice creams comes from milk fat (which is present in milk, butter and butter milk powder).
All our current stabilisers used in the ice cream are of vegetable origins.
Cochineal is currently found in the Koolstix (#84), Natural Bowen Mango Bar (#3). Happy Jacks (#10).
Traces of Egg is found on some products as they may have come in contact with an ingredient which is made on a line used to make other ingredients containing egg. (These include: Double Choc #7, Chocolate Cone #11, Triple Up's Chocolate #68, Raspberry Jelly Top #59, Chewy Choc Triplets #50, Mini Maids #83 and Vanilla Iceberger #44).
Pixie Ice Cream Pty. Ltd. manufactures all of the products in the Home Ice Cream range. The factory has a certificate of accreditation as a Dairy Processor (114171-000), which is audited regularly by Safe Food Queensland.
The factory, as a holder of this accreditation, complies with the requirements of Queensland’s Food Production (Safety) Act 2000 and the Food Production (Safety) Regulation 2002.
This is achieved by utilising Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) as a process control measure to prevent the manufacture of out of specification product. All product manufactured at the factory is tested to comply with the National Food Standards Code.
The factory successfully passed the last audit, conducted in March 2010, from Safe Food Queensland.

Preservatives in Home Ice Cream Products
Home Ice Cream does not use preservatives in their ice cream and ice blocks.
However, preservatives may be in some of the inclusions used. Currently, only the following products contain preservatives:

101 Riboflavin - Orange yellow colour found in green vegetables and malted barley
120 Cochineal - Red colour extracted from certain scale insects
140 Chlorophyll - Extracted from grass or lucerne
141 Copper Chlorophyll - Extracted from dried grass or lucerne
150a Caramel - Cooked sugar
160a B-Carotene - Orange yellow colour found in carrots
160b Annatto - Orange colour from the seed of the Annatto tree
